Performer-in-Residence

In 2025, ThinkArts launched a novel programme, designed to introduce and contextualise the performing arts for children in a fresh and engaging way.

Since 2013, ThinkArts has championed creative and critical arts experiences for children across India. From theatre to music, we've reached thousands through performances and workshops with artists from India and beyond.

Now, we bring the stage into the lives of children in a deeper, more immersive way, with our Performer-in-Residence program—a week-long immersive experience where students engage directly with a professional actor, dancer, or musician.

This engagement and initiative offers a rare glimpse into the performer’s journey—hours of thought, practice, and passion behind every moment on stage. It sparks curiosity, nurtures imagination, and deepens emotional and social intelligence.

By inviting seasoned artists into schools, we empower students to explore the discipline, creativity, and persistence behind the art—and inspire them to see the world through a more expressive lens.

The first edition of Performer-in-Residence saw Antara at Nirmal Bhartia School, Dwarka, launch interventions aimed around introducing the classical guitar to children across a week.

“What began as observation soon became participation, showing them that the world of classical music is not distant or closed, but open, inviting, and within reach. [...] This experience has left a profound imprint, broadening their sense of possibility and deepening their understanding of the transformative power of the arts.”
