CIRCLES by Helios Theater | Germany
For Ages 2+
30 mins | Non-Verbal 14 - 20 November 2021 Online |
The circle of life, the circle of friends, the family circle, the surroundings. The course of the seasons. The planetary system… Everything is running in circles. Everything has a sound.
A stone is swinging over a blue surface. A planet above the water? The earth in the universe? A pendulum? The course of time? Or just a swinging stone? A bucket is swinging and losing sand. It moves in circles and paints a spiral on the blue ground. Animals appear, people join in, a world evolves, stories begin… “CIRCLES” is a meditation on the big questions for 60 spectators, two performers, a stone, a bucket of sand, puppets and music. |

HELIOS Theater is an independent theatre company with a children's theatre house in the city of Hamm. It was founded by artists in Cologne in 1989 and moved to Hamm in Westfalia in 1997. The "Kulturbahnhof", opened in 2004, is the place where the ensemble works as a theatre. Annually 1-2 new productions are developed. Barbara Kölling, stage director and artistic director of the theatre, as well as Michael Lurse, actor and director, have shaped the work of the theatre for years. In close cooperation with the performers, topics are worked on, narrations are dramatized and explorations of material are developed into drama. In the interdisciplinary ensemble, artists from the fields of acting, puppetry, music and visual arts work together. While theatre FOR children and young people plays an important role at the HELIOS Theater, projects WITH children and teenagers expand the repertoire and focus on different topics. Thus the venue has become a gathering place for art lovers of every age.
