Millipede is a virtual shoe shop created in the face of Climate Change to generate ideas and shape artistic responses to our Carbon Footprint. Fantasy cobblers (participants) have created exhibits for our online interactive shopping experience, which goes live on 1st November 2021. Working with artists and leading scientists, our aim is to stimulate engagement and creation within our participant groups to communicate big and difficult factual concepts through a playful lens. Participants are of different ages, and from different urban and rural walks of life from India and Scotland. Their shoes are in all shapes and forms - some made with recycled materials, one made of cow dung, some drawings, sculptures, poems, dances and more! "Millipede" has been commissioned by British Council as a part of The Climate Connection, the British Council’s creative commissions programme for COP26. |
