CREATIVE SESSIONS FOR CHILDREN : SUMMER 2020
We had planned for a number of sessions to engage children creatively during their Summer break. Since it won't be possible for us to welcome them to the ThinkArts Corner, we are bringing the sessions into their homes via Zoom!
While we were reluctant to move to the online medium, we realise that it is the only medium available for us at the moment. It is important for children to stay creatively engaged and meet other children as well - we hope our sessions will provide an opportunity for both, in good measure! Please take a look at the workshops below. Once we receive the payment confirmation we will send you an email and whatsapp with the details of the session. The link for the zoom session will be sent only on the day of the session. There is limited capacity so do sign up soon! Last date for registration : 25th May 2020 All the modules are offered in two age groups: ages 6 to 9 & ages 9 to 12 |
Funds raised through these sessions will be used to support artists who have suffered an impact on their earnings, due to Covid-19.
BUILDING A STORY
Using prompts, children will be encouraged to build a story by imagining a character, a situation and a narrative. On the final day, they will share the stories created during the session.

LOOK AT ART
The session will introduce students to notable artwork and artists from India and around the world. and encourage children to create artwork, inspired by the artist's style. The idea is not to 'teach' but use this as an entry point for them to get acquainted with art.
________________________________________________________________________
LISTENING TOGETHER
Introducing children to music composers from around the world, and urge them to find their personal connection and response to the music, some of which they might be listening to, for the very first time.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
THE WORLD OF BOOKS
The module will include Read-Alouds of excerpts from award winning children's stories, and activities based on the stories which will encourage students to develop their vocabulary. By the end of the week, children will demonstrate use of new words they have learnt during the week, through their original writings.
