MISTER JEEJEEBHOY AND THE BIRDS by Gillo Repertory Theatre | India
Two siblings, one very strange Aunt, and a flock of escaped birds... Magic and mayhem comes in unexpected shapes and sizes to one small corner of a very big city. This unique story brings to life the wonders of our city and the world seen through the eyes of these two - rather special - young children. |
Gillo Repertory Theatre works in Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA), creating performing arts experiences that engage children and young adults with theatre in particular and the arts in general. Their work, that includes content development, performance and training, creates opportunities for children to develop deep and life-long connections with the arts. They focus on showcasing original Indian content, developing value for the performing arts, creating age-specific performances, training performers and making theatre more accessible to children.
The repertory of adult artists stages a range of short and full length plays for children of different age groups. Since 2010 they have produced 19 plays, staged over 450 performances, conducted workshops and reached over 95000 children and young people across India. Based in Mumbai, they regularly tour across India with performances, workshops and theatre based engagements. Gillo is a member of ASSITEJ India (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People).
