SOMARI VOLYA

SOMARI VOLYA by Kinnara Mela | India

For Ages 6+
23 mins
| Kannada

15 - 21 November 2021
Online

‘Volya’ a little girl receives a ‘toy ring’ as a gift from her friends on her birthday. Volya is very happy and always playing with it. Her mischievous friends, just for fun, change the ring into big wheel through Magic. The wheel disappears and hides behind a bush. Volya is very sad and starts weeping. Mother tells her to look for the ring and Volya prepares to start her search.

The wheel plays hide and seek with Volya. She asks Ants, Cat, Cock, Dog and Swan to help her search for the ring. But they are all busy with work and nobody is ready to help her. Annoyed, Volya starts searching herself. Meanwhile, the friends take pity on her and change the wheel back into a ring. Volya finds the ring and all the friends are happy and play together.

In the last 30 years Kinnara Mela Theatre Company has produced more than 65 plays in schools as well as at theatre festivals meant for children, gaining them national recognition for their work.
